Who We Are
In Team Somervuori are three riders who compete in eventing. Eventing has been selected as our sport because it is versatile and requires an ability to perform well in all three disciplines, i.e. dressage, showjumping and cross-country fences. The well-being of our horses is the most important thing to us. Therefore, each of our horses is cared for, taking into account its individual needs. We make training and competition plans together with our coaches.
● Kielo and Jogi compete in pony classes and have their second year as a part of the Finnish National Team. Their goal for 2023 is the Nordic-Baltic Championships in Ypäjä in Finland in July.
● Lilja and Medella have been participating in the Southern Finland Regional Team training for the second year. Their goal for 2023 is to establish the 100 cm level in eventing.
● Orvokki and Romeo currently live in Germany and compete in international three-star classes. The season's goal for them is August's Nordic-Baltic Championships in Finland.
Riding and horses are our passion, and we want to improve our skills constantly. Orvokki and Lilja are riding instructors, and Kielo is still in middle school. We all have our own coaches and training programs, but the support of each other and our team is essential. We talk daily about anything related to horses, e.g. we go through training videos and competition performances and share coaching tips.
