Kielo
I am Kielo Somervuori, a 16-year-old eventing rider from Kirkkonummi.
The season 2024 is my first as a junior rider competing with a horse. My junior horse is a mare named Mamma Mia. The cooperation with Mamma Mia started in autumn 2023. The training and the first competitions have gone well.
With Mamma Mia, I intend to compete in junior classes and gain experience riding a horse. Our goal for the season 2024 is to start Mamma Mia’s eventing career smoothly and to compete in the Junior class of the Finnish Eventing Championships.
My goal is to participate in the 2025 European Junior Equestrian Championships.
Even though I'm not a pony rider anymore I will continue competing with my pony Jogi. I've competed with Jogi for four eventing seasons. We trained in the South Finland Regional Team for the first two years. After that, we trained for two years with other ponies in the National Team of Finland.
As a rider, I am motivated to work hard for success. Therefore, I train as much as possible and spend almost all my free time with horses. Horses are my friends, and I spend much time caring for their health and well-being.
My dream is to become a professional rider and achieve good places at international level.
I started riding regularly at the age of six at a riding school. I got to compete with a few different ponies and got excited about competing. When Jogi joined our family, I could ride him occasionally, but we only started regular and goal-oriented training together in 2019. Besides Jogi, I also ride other ponies and horses and thus have gained good experience with many kinds of horses. I'm always excited when I get to ride other people's horses. Due to my small size, I can ride ponies that adults cannot.
