Lilja

I am Lilja Somervuori, a 23-year-old eventing rider and riding instructor. In addition to my day job, I work as a part-time entrepreneur and, e.g., give riding lessons and ride horses.

I started riding at the age of 12 at a riding school. I became interested in competing after participating in the competitions organized by the riding school. Then, at age 15, I rented a pony with which I could train and compete more. Later, I also got to compete with a bigger horse.

At the age of 18, I got my first own horse, Medella. After graduating high school, I studied horses at Ypäjä Equine College. At Ypäjä, I worked with Medella and other horses of many different ages and levels. I train weekly in dressage and showjumping. I have my second year in Elmo Jankari's South Finland Regional Team.
